That has been me. Gram and Pop came and picked me up on Thursday and I have been in Oklahoma since. We have been running around with our heads cut off, or so it seems. Trying to get our shopping done. Good news is I am done with shopping finally. I thought I was never going to get done. But I am. More good news. Derek will be home Tuesday night. I am so very happen. The thought of him not being here for Christmas was just to much. So I am so thankful. Well not much else is going on around here. Just counting down the days for Christmas as most are. So if I don't get a chance to get on before I want to wish everyone a very Merry CHRISTmas and a wonderful New Year! Try and keep warm with this freezing cold weather. MyHotComments.com

the WORST thing ever!

My husband is going away and I will never see him again. I am going to be all alone on Christmas! Okay I don't know that for sure but with our luck that's how it will be. He got called out on ice storm today. He leaves tomorrow morning. I have been crying all morning. I hate it. It is a pattern already for him to be gone on a holiday and me by myself. Okay wow so I think I couldn't have complained more.

SNOW!

That's right we have snow. And lots of it. It started snowing last night and hasn't stopped. So Derek is off yet again. He didn't work yesterday either because the temperature was 0 degrees with a negative 30 degree wind chill. So today we will be going out yet again in the cold and try for the second day to finish our shopping. Good thing is I got done shopping for him this weekend when we went to OK. Speaking of the weekend. It was really good. We went to the TobyMac concert and I would have to say that was the best concert I have been to. So if blogger would let me post some pictures I would. But right now it's not so maybe next time. Well it's about time to go out in the cold.

On The Road Again

Well when Derek gets off work. We are going to Oklahoma again. It has to be a record for the most times we have been home in a month. I love that we get to go home but absolutely hate the 5 1/2 hour drive every time. It is going to be another none stop weekend. Saturday we will be in Tulsa all day. And I have to try and start and finish my Christmas shopping for Derek. Then after shopping we are going to a concert. Which should be a blast. I have been looking forward to going to this concert for along time. We used to go to concerts every weekend or it seemed like it. But since we have been doing this job we haven't be able to. I think this will be the second this year. And the other was in March. So it is very far apart. I got a lot of packing to do to be ready for when Derek gets here for we can go. Remember us on the road. Last Friday night we almost hit a deer I am talking inches from it. It was only the Lord that keep it from being in our laps. Most of you may not know or really care but Kansas has some of the most biggest deer around. Well have a good weekend and stay warm!

4 day weekend is that right?

Yes it is! So lets see if I can remember how it went. We got to Pryor at an early 1:30AM. We had to stop for Derek to take his test and yes he passed. Thank you to those that said a prayer for him. He also got to talk to his instructor about moving us somewhere else. It sounds like he will be trying his best to get us moved. So we have some hope. So back to Pryor. We got our things unloaded and into bed oh around 2:00am. As most of you know Derek goes to sleep in two seconds. As for me on a good night it takes me 2 1/2 hours to fall asleep. So why would that night have been any different. The last time I looked at the clock was 4am. And I had to be up no later then 6:30. So needless to say I started the weekend to a very bad start. We went to OKC and started Christmas shopping. Wait can I even say that being I only got one stocking stuffer? I did not find anything. Of course Heather goes in and gets everything as does ever year. Well after that the reason of going to OKC was to visit the OKC homeless shelter. It was a very good experience. After being there all evening we rushed back to Tulsa. To eat some much needed Zio's. It was so good. I think we may have to try and squeeze it in next weekend before for the concert Heather. Okay so that was just Saturday. Sunday we had church then that night we went to the Christmas train. The plan was to go to the train then drive up to Kansas after at 10pm. Well its a five hour drive and after the weekend just couldn't do it. So Derek called off on Monday. So Monday we slept in a little bit then set up our Christmas tree finialy. Had yummy buttermilk pancakes at Grams. Thank you again. And got on the road. We got to Kansas at 12am. It started to snow that night so when Derek went to work at 7 he was back to the room by 7:07. They weren't working because of the snow. So the 4th day off. We did start Christmas shopping. We got about half of it done. We walked in the freezing cold and looked at the little shop in the downtown area of this little town. Cold but good times. Well this is very long. If you made it threw im sorry if you are bored about my ramblings.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

It could not have taken any slower to get here. But it's here. We head out tonight after Derek gets off to go to Oklahoma. Maybe it will be warmer there. But we have to stop off at Derek's apprentice instructors house for he can take another test. So please say a prayer that he'll pass. This weekend is going to be none stop. We have so much planned. I will be sure to take lots of pictures. We are going to the Christmas Train and if we can squeeze it in maybe Christmas lights. Well have a good weekend.

to COLD for ME!

This is the only thing I have enjoyed out of this town.ha. This was the sunset the other night. The picture doesn't really show how pretty it really was. So we are now on the hunt for another apartment or rent house. It is costing us way to much to stay in a motel week after week. There is a lot in the papers. It is just finding one that is good enough to live in. It is scary when you are looking threw the paper at 2 to 3 bedroom house and the monthly rent is 349.00 a month. I can't even imagine what it is like. I am so scared to even go look at the house's. I have talked to a few people and they will do a month to month rent for us. So that is good. But I don't know. This will definitely be an adventure. So it has been snowing all day long. But it hasn't really added up. It is freezing cold here. I'm talking 19 degrees cold. I am all for cold weather but this is a bit much. Last night when we went to dinner I was so cold. I don't think I have ever been that cold in my life. I had a hoodie on and big coat and boots. Well that is about it for me.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..

Well Thanksgiving is now over. We ate, played games, laughed, ate, played games and laughed over and over again. Good times. Now we are back in Kansas in the freezing cold. The drive up last night it started to snow. I was so happy. In Oklahoma it was like summer time. We have now officially closed one chapter in the book of our lives. Living in Wichita. We are now free of the apartment. ah. Now if we could just be free of our house in Oklahoma.ha. Any who it's looking like Christmas. But I am in a pickle. I can not decide if we should set up our tree at the house. We are never there and I don't know if it is really worth it. But the thought of not doing it just seems to crazy. But will see.

Food and Football

It was actually a good weekend or day and a half. Saturday when Derek got to the room we decided to have a football party. So we thought of what food we wanted made a list and headed into town before the game to get the supplies. We made seven layer dip and cheese dip with meat. Let me tell it is something to make all that in a motel room with no kitchen. But with the help of Gram(thank you) we managed to do it and it was so good. We haven't ate anything homemade in over a month. It has been eating out 24/7. We ended up eating the whole bag of chips and the whole thing of cheese dip in just two settings. Talk about some pigs. ha. We would have ate the other to but we didn't have anymore chips. And didn't want to go to town. The game was awesome. OU won big time. It was a shut out game. It was a good night. Sunday we stood at the room all morning watched a couple movies then went in town to do laundry and it dinner. This laundry mat was a nice one. They had pinball machines that we played the whole time. Granted it coast us way more money but it was fun. Then we ate and went back to the room. We did the sunday school lesson then cleanned up the room and played upwords. Tonight is the last night in here in this town for a few days. ah home! Hope everybody had a good weekend.

Super Cold Friday!

It was 6 degrees this morning when I woke up. Oh wait and the heater in a room was broke all night and morning. So we had it on but it was doing no good. And you know its cold if I'm saying it. So there is nothing better then snuggling up in a blanket drinking hot tea and reading a book on cold days.ah So I thought Friday was never going to get here. Only four day's left till I get to go home. But I am torn. We had planned on going to CO for Thanksgiving because we never spend Holiday's there. But then some how changed our mind and are now going to OK. I was okay with it at first but now that it is closer I want to go to both and I feel so sad about having to pick one over the other. When I talked to my grandma and told her I wasn't going to be there she seemed so sad and heart broken. Which brake's my heart. The only thing that helps is for me to think how blessed I am to have such wonderful family's. Because there are some out there who doesn't have any. Okay this is something fun or good when you don't have really anything to post about on Fridays.

1. The last band I saw live was SKILLET boy was that a long time ago.
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is FOOD, FAMILY, GAMES. (if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, insert your favorite holiday)
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is NO WHERE CLOSE TO BEING STARTED.
4. Thoughts of COLD,SNOW,AND HOLIDAY FOODS fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear FLIP FLOPS.
6. Bagpipes ARE OKAY.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to DEREK GETTING OFF , tomorrow my plans include GOING TO TOWN and Sunday, I want to LEAVE FOR THANKSGIVING BUT CAN'T TILL TUESDAY NIGHT!

Stay warm and have a good weekend

Weekend Not So Much!

Well my weekend just flew by. Oh wait I didn't get a weekend. Derek had to work Saturday and Sunday he had class. So Saturday when he got off work we loaded up and went to Wichita. We stayed the night there and did laundry at a good laundry mat. OH wait I had never told the laundry story. In this small town the don't follow the no smoking rules. Like the big city's do. So we go to do laundry the first week we are here and the laundry place is so ran down. We didn't even know it was in business but it was. So we went in because it was late in the night and didn't want to drive to another town to do it. Anyways we get our cloths in the washer then there was people smoking then that's when we noticed the smoking welcome sign. Talk about one hot chick! I hated. What 's the point in washing cloths when they are going to be dirty before you leave.! So needless to stay I was thankful to be in Wichita doing laundry at a good place. After getting done with that we had to go to Walmart because I forgot the air pump for the air mattress. So by the time we got back to the apartment it was 12:30 it gets better. I had to be up at 4am to get the rest of our stuff from the apartment and be on the road to Topeka by 5:30am. I didn't get to sleep till 2:45. So to say the least Sunday was the longest day ever. On a good note Derek passed another test. He is one more step closer to being done. Derek let me know today that rumor going around is they wont be working any Saturday's in December so lets hope it is true. That would be so great. Other wise we will have to miss some of our Christmas traditions which will make me so upset. Well that's it for now.

New Town

After many and I mean many hours of fighting with my computer I have won. Well at least for now. Yep I got it up in running all on my own. And I am so happy I have internet again. I was starting to go crazy without it. Moving on. We are now back in the life of living in motel to motel and boy I do not miss it let me tell ya. In fact I hate it. Not only are we living out of motel but the town we are in is a rat hole. It is a very small town in the middle of Kansas. (5 hours to Oklahoma and 5 hours to Colorado.) There is no Wal-mart and the population is maybe 2,000 but that is a far reach. The people here are so rude and don't know how to drive as well. And to top it all off the town smells so bad, because of the cattle farms and feed mill things. I am a big time city girl I have no small town girl in me. With this job here Derek is working 6 days a week. So there is no going home or anywhere for that matter. Which leaves me at the motel alone 12 hours a day. I don't know what I am going to do other then go crazy. Well it's time to get some lunch. Sorry if I bummed you out.

Computer Crash Florida And Moving!

Okay first off my computer has crashed and died. So that is the reason for no posting. I have been without it for over two weeks and don't know if I can make till we get another. I am so not happy about. But there isn't anything I can do so moving on. Florida was awesome. We went to Disney four day's, the beach, and Sea World. While there we celebrated our anniversary. I have been blessed to have had three wonderful years (well for the most part;) with my husband and I more to come I hope. So that was great. Now the moving part. First day back from vacation and Derek comes home and says he is getting switched location for his job, and Thursday is our last day there. So I had two days to pack up the apartment. Boy was that fun. We had so much stuff I couldn't believe it. Things pile up fast in eight months. So now we are going to be farther away from Oklahoma. Which I am so not happy about. We will only get to go back to Oklahoma on holidays for the next year. Did I say it makes me so sick to think about that. I don't now if we will be able to rent a house or something this time. It may just be motel staying from here on out. Well that about sums it up. I need to spend as much time as I can with everyone. Being I'm never going to see them again=( Don't know when you'll here from me again. Here is just a couple of pictures. It's to hard to load them on dial up.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

How is it that vacations are supposed to be a time to relax and enjoy life. But to get ready for it is death. The packing list. Getting the house ready to be left. All the extra fee's that come up. I hate it. So I was making phone calls about somethings and boy is it expensive and dumb. We have to leave are suv at the airport so we have fee's for that which isn't bad $9.00 a day. But to check baggage your talking 15 bucks for a forty pound bag if you go over forty pounds 150bucks. And that's just on the fist bag. I don't even want to get started if you need a second bag. I hate it. I don't think I will be flying anymore. Its not worth it at all. Anyways that has been my week. I wont say anything more about the trip to Colorado. I will just put some pictures up. Oh Heather I got Dance Revolution=) It's just as fun or so Derek says he has been playing it like crazy. I haven't got to yet because I still can't walk.

Bored And On The Road

So we are headed back to Kansas. It is cold and rainny. Which is making the drive seem for ever. I so don't like road trips. But anyway we had a good but way to fast weekend. We got to visit a lot and do a bunch of things. Well I might post later in more detail but I'll put a few pictures up. I have a ton. Between Heather, Jamey, and Me we made a cd of all them and there was 300 of them just in two days. So enjoy there will be way more to come

Tuesday

Well we had another good weekend in Oklahoma. We did lots of things as normal. We went and played miniature golf Friday evening. Then Saturday we went to the block party in Tulsa. Then spent the evening just visiting. Sunday we had a good church service. Then visited the rest of the day then played a game. Monday we slept in a little bit. Then went to our house and Derek got the yard mowed. And I had a lot of running around to do. We wont be going back to Oklahoma till November. It seems like we always have to do this. We are on the go and in a different state each week ha. But I have really good news. If all goes as planned we will only be doing this till August of next year. Which is way sooner then we thought. I am so happy at the thought of being done way sooner. I will leave you with a couple of pictures from this weekend. I am still trying to figure out my camera before we go on vacation in two weeks. Enjoy! He says he wasn't sleeping but I think different. What do you think. He is awful snug with that bunny=)
This was in Tulsa when we played miniature golf. I think Derek and Kylie tied for first place.
Ashton played DeDe's guitar. He loves it.

My Wonderful Husband

Our birthdays are a day apart. So on mine he came home from work and surprised me with flowers. Then took me shopping for my present. We have both agreed not to try and surprise each other it never works. We are both to picky to buy for. So for my birthday he bought me a new camera. I am so happy. It is a real good one for the classes I will be taking at some point. Then after we did shopping for me I took him to get his gift. He ended up getting a new guitar case and a new amp. He was very happy. So then we went to dinner. We went to a place called Sumo. They cook your meal in front of you while putting on a show. Very good. It was a very good birthday. On his birthday the poor guy had to work all day. I thought of calling his boss and asking them if they could send him home but I thought it would never work. So I spent the day making him a song book. I printed off some many music cords. So when he got off work I gave that to him and we went to dinner. He picked Red Lobster. So off we went. He got a whole lobster. The ones they go get out of the tank=( When they brought it to the table the eyes were looking at me and freaked me out. Gross! I made Derek turn it around.
After dinner we went and got Starbucks and walked a water fall type lake area. Then went and got some ice cream. Well now that you are probably bored out of your mind I'm going to go. I need to get packed to head to Oklahoma when Derek gets off. Have a wonderful weekend.

What A Weekend

We were non stop all weekend. But we had fun. Friday when we got into town we did some running around. Then that night went to the high school football game. Lost of fun. Then stood up till I think two visiting with Heather and Aaron. Then got up the next morning early to go into Tulsa with Heather, Aaron, Ashton, Kylie, and Josh. We did shopping ate and went to the TU football game there. That was a lot of fun. Sunday we had church. Then went to Gram and Pops. Gram made us a yummy birthday dinner.(thank you) And since Derek had worked so hard the company thought they would be nice and give them one extra day off. Look out. So Monday we did more running around in town. Then when we was going to head to Kansas at the last minute we decided to go to the fair with Kylie and Josh. The Newsboys was having a concert there and it just cost the gate admission. So glade we went it was a really good concert. Derek took his oldest electric guitar and got them all to sign it. That was awesome. So after that we jumped on the road around 11pm or so to drive 2 1/2 hours. We didn't get to Wichita till 1:45am. I don't have any pictures I miss placed my camera. Maybe next time. So like I said what a weekend.

Now I am at the apartment trying to get back on a routine. Boy is that hard. I haven't spent the whole day by myself for over a month. I'm not used to it anymore. And I am lost at which day I did what on house work. I hate it. Well that is it for me. I get the joy trying to hunt done some food in a house I haven't been in a month. Since we didn't go shopping last night we have nothing here or that is still good.ha

So Very Very Happy!!!

After 26 long day's I will be getting to see my husband. He is coming home=) I can't even explain how I feel. It is great! I will be leaving in the morning to meet him back in Kansas. Thank you everyone that has been praying for us. With out the Lord and the prayers I don't think I would have made it. It is the Lord that is bringing him back home. There is still a bunch of work that needs done but the Lord knows how much we need each other right now. Well just thought I would let everyone know. I think once we get in Kansas we will be heading to Oklahoma to see everyone. If I remember right it has been two months since we have been there. So it is a much needed visit.

Word On The Street

Derek will be gone for a month. So that would put him getting back home October 19Th or so. So needless to say I am really really bummed. But he is going to have to come back before then. Because we leave on October 19Th for our vacation. So bags will be packed and we will be headed to Florida. I really wanted to go to Greece because this is more then likely the only time we would be able to but with getting passports worked out and everything it just wouldn't happen for the dates we have picked out. And I didn't want to move our vacation to next year sometime. Plus we would spend the money by then and not get a vacation at all. lol Cause we would.

So I am sitting at my grandmas wondering if life will ever be back to normal. And all I can do is laugh. Because after hurricane season is over ice storm season begins. After that is spring with tornado's. Then summer with thunder storms. Then your back at hurricanes again. It is crazy. I can't wait till the day we can be settled. Or just a tiny bit. Well Happy Friday! and have a good weekend. I think I am going to the mountains tomorrow and maybe fishing=) Oh how I miss going fishing with bunny on the weekends. Anyways I hope the leaves are changing for I can get some good pictures.

Texas

Well Derek is in Texas. He has been there for a couple of days now. They have stayed the past two nights in a motel with no power. It has been a slow start to getting power up. I guess the work that has to be done is no little job. The conditions there are better then Louisiana. They are getting taken care of better also. We still have no word on when he will be coming home. All Derek has told me is that when Oct 19Th comes around he is coming home for sure. For we can go on vacation. In my mind I'm thinking are you crazy. That's to long. So I guess only time will tell. It has been over three weeks since I have seen him. Each day it gets harder and harder. On that note I'm going to go before I really get started up.

A Post

So I have no reason for not posting other then I just haven't felt like it. And I have had a lot of things to post about. Which I normally don't have. Hmm it's weird. So anyways I have been in Colorado since the end of August. I don't think I'm ever going home or going to see my husband. That's right he is still on storm working. He has been in Louisiana for almost two weeks now. They are just about done there but they are going to be on standby till hurricane Ike hits Texas. If it hits like they say it is then they will move in there and be working there for who knows how long. I'm just about at the end of the rope.

It is funny how you can live somewhere all your life and then move away for a couple years and it feel so strange and lost. I am so home sick. A place I once called my home and comforted me is no more. It is crazy. Yeah I have got to see a ton of family I love dearly but it just is not the same. Well now that i have cried me a river I'll move on. Or just go. I need to get ready I'm getting my hair cut in 30 min. Have a good day.

Colorado Fun

Here is some picks of Colorado. Enjoy

P.S Please be in prayer for Derek he is going down on Tuesday for the hurricane. The conditions will be very dangerous. I have no clue how long he will be gone. But I know it is going to be a few weeks maybe up to five weeks. And for me. I have never been away from him that long.

Okay it has been crazy since my mom got here last week. I have been on the go none stop. A weekend trip to Oklahoma City where we went to a very boring cowboy history type museum. River walk boat taxi thing which was good. Base Pro Shop. And last the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial which everyone should see. It was very very good. Sad but good. There was several times where found myself in tears. Then Kansas. We went to a wildlife park one day, the zoo the next day. We went golfing in the evening one night. Then miniature golf the next night which I won. The first time ever wining. Fishing all day and night. And drum roll please. On the road to Colorado now for the rest of the week and weekend/holiday.
