Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Ours all started Friday. My dad and I left Colorado on Friday to go to Kansas and pick Derek up. We got a late start and didn't end up leaving till 3 pm. We drove to springs to find it snowing hard. Made it threw springs to drive in a full on white out blizzard! For three hours moving 30 mph. So we ended up getting to KS at 1:30am. When we should have been there at 6pm. So we decided to sleep for a hour or two. Then got back on the road at 4am. We hit bad weather to OK the whole way. Talk about two long days.

Any way we stood to days in OK. One in which was spent in Tulsa trying to start are Christmas shopping. We ended up getting our Christmas stuff out and setting up our tree two days before Christmas funny I know but I couldn't not do it. Then one evening us and Kylie and Josh went to Heather and Aaron's and ate and watched Christmas movies all night long. We all camped out in there living room. Christmas Eve we all got together ate finger foods and opened presents. We ate dinner with the family on Christmas and left out Christmas day to come back to KS to work. Thus where in KS right now. I am tired of being here. But I think it is almost over. Being at this location that is. Next place we go is up in the air.

Ans to top it all off I got sick in CO and have been blah. I don't think I am ever going to feel better. I was really bummed about having to leave on Christmas day. I hate traveling these days. We have put so many miles on the SUV in the past three months. It is going to die on us before summer ever gets here. Well that is it for now. Here is just a couple of pictures of the weekend. A Week!

Happy Friday. Well a lot has happen this past week. Derek came home Monday night and said he had to pack his bags and leave the next morning to go work on all the power outages. (three states are in a state of emergency) So we got his stuff all together. So then I was trying to figure out what I was doing. So I called my mom up then my dad and decided I was headed to Colorado. Being that I couldn't go to Oklahoma because everyone has been out of power there since Sunday and still is. And the roads being so bad going that way.

Tuesday I was to leave and head to Colorado but the weather was still to bad. So I had to stay. The power in the town we were went off. I was at the motel all day without it. Talk about lots of fun. Being how ever many miles from home in a town by myself were I know nobody. It finally came back on that night. Derek at that time called me and up dated me and said he was working in a town 25 min from the town I was and they were staying at that motel. So I didn't have to stay by myself that night.

Wednesday I got up at four. Got Derek off to work. Packed up the car and left to Colorado. It was a long drive. The roads were all snow packed and icy, so you couldn't go full speed. But I got to Colorado. Where I am staying at my grandmas. I got to visit with a lot all ready.

I talked to Derek last night which was Thursday. He said they may be working threw Christmas if everyone isn't back up. Please be praying for him. He is working in freezing cold temperatures with little sleep. Which is very dangerous in that type of work. He is working 18 hour days with 6 hours of sleep. I don't even know if that's legal. But please remember him. Well that's it for know. Have a great weekend.

Stand By

That's right Derek got off work came in told me he is on stand by. Right know there is a big ice storm in Iowa. So if he gets the call he is gone. So I will either have to stay in Kansas by myself or drive home or to Colorado. Which is scary because the roads in either direction are icy. The life of a lineman. Blah. It's freezing rain out here. Derek only worked half a day because of the rain and temperatures being unbearable. It's down right cold out. I thought the past days had been cold. They weren't nothing. So I am down in the lobby doing laundry just in case he has to go. Drinking some Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino trying to stay warm. Looking outside homesick to be in Oklahoma. Can you believe I want to be there. Mark it down. I think that is the first time since I moved there that I want to be there and miss it. This end of the world stuff isn't for this girl.

On a totally different subject. Is it bad when your husband wakes you up in the middle of the night and tells you to stop griping at him. I guess I was dreaming and was griping in my sleep. So he was shaking me and telling me to wake up. I get up and look at him like he is crazy. I was like what are you doing. So he tells me. It tickled me so bad. I couldn't go to sleep for nothing after that. It is so werid because I never dream. I must have been in a deep sleep. Well take care. Stay warm. Have a good weekend.

Baby It's Cold Outside

That's right it is down right cold outside. Yesterday it snowed all day long. And today snow. We can't get enough of it. Good thing Derek and I like it. Bad thing is with Derek's job they don't work in rain, snow, or any other extreme weather. So Derek was off yesterday. Which means no pay. It is for casted to snow for the next five days. So it's kind of a bad deal. If Derek don't get some work he has talked about going to the union and getting moved. He is talking about wanting to go to Texas or Arizona. So we will see what happens the next few days.

We tried to do some shopping yesterday at some local stores down town since Derek was off. That didn't work out for us. I don't know how people do it. Or how they make any money. We went to a coffee shop. It was cute but they didn't know how to make any specialty coffee's. They said they did but it was not good. But it's a small town what can you say. At least they try i guess. We did find a little movie rental store. So we went in and told them about us being here and to see if we could rent some movies and they said yes. So we got a couple of movies and spent the evening watching them.


Other news. I got a slow cooker the other night. We can't stand eating out any more. I never really have used one before. So it has been interesting. Nor have I ever really cooked anything in the microwave besides a potato. It goes against everything my mom ever taught me about cooking. But it has worked out ok. The only thing is I have to leave the window open because smelling it that much makes me sick. Can't imagine what everyone thinks when they walk by our room. We also have put up a mini Christmas tree. It's sad but what can you do. We have tried to make it as much like home as one can.

Okay it is freezing out. I am curled up under a blanket. Last night are heater in are room went out. So we bundled up and waited till today to go down and tell them. So I got to pack up all are stuff and move rooms today. And to top it off today is laundry day. Yup that's right waiting hours upon hours for one washer and dryer. To have somebodies under garments fall out on to the floor. I hate it. This job has been great to us but it comes with so many downs. And your life can change in a blink of an eye.

So we got word yesterday that Derek will be working weekends till Christmas. So we don't get to go home till I think it's two days before Christmas maybe that is. If Derek don't have to go to Oregon and Washington for the big storms. His boss mentioned something about it yesterday. I know he would love to go on a storm break as they call it. But I would not be able to go with him. So I wouldn't know if he would be back by Christmas or not:( I know I would be sad but if he was able to help so many people that lost everything and give them power I would rather him be able to do that. Those people have lost so much and right around the holidays. I knew what we getting into with this job and it was a matter of before something like this was going to come up.

It is going to be fun trying to do Christmas shopping. This town has no stores. We may be able to go to Topeka and do some shopping one weekend but it will be kind of hard. We will have to spread out to do are shopping for each other. Then get it wrapped there or something. Not like there is hiding places in a small motel room. I'm going to miss shopping with Heather this year. I hate going by myself. It is always great to have an opinion of another. Till next time take care

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We had a good one. I got to go home. Yup that's right I got to spend one whole night plus a have of one at home. We got in late Friday night so that being the half night. Saturday we got up and went to Gram and Pops. We hung out there. Played some hand foot. Then later that day we went to Tulsa and meet up with Heather,Aaron,Ashton,Kylie,and Josh. We went and looked at Christmas lights. It was a lot of fun. We took a ton of pictures. But here is a few.

Hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We went down to Colorado and stayed a week with Dus and Jamey. I got bad sick the first day we were there. And it continued all week long. And eventually got Derek sick. But with all that we had a good Thanksgiving. I went down to my grandma's a day early to help her start baking. And boy did we bake. Then Derek,Dus,Jamey,and kids came down on Thursday.I was a little worried because some of my family is yikes but they were on there best behavior I think. I think there was around 20 people there. My uncle Tim fried a turkey. It was so good. I ate so much. Then after we ate Jamey, my mom, my mom's husband Ben and I played Hand and Foot. It was lots of fun. I think everyone else went to the living room and snoozed. Then we did the clean up. But the night was young so we got rounded up and went to Bro. Keven's house and played games with them till who knows when. We ended up staying the night at there house. Then Jamey and I had a good idea to get up and hit the sales. So we got to asleep after 2 got up at 3:30am and went shopping. I didn't get the DVD player I went for, but I did how ever get Derek jeans at Old Navy for 14 bucks a pair. I was happy.

The whole week was fun. We got to spend a lot of time with the kids and everyone. We helped Dus and Jamey move into there house. With it snowing all day I might add. But it was great to see the snow. It made it feel so winter out. As if the temperatures all week at maybe 20 didn't feel like winter right. It is nice the Lord has really blessed them. I got to go down to Pueblo and go dress shopping with my friend for her wedding. She got her dress but we are still looking for the braids maid dresses so you know what that means. I have to go back to Colorado sometime in the near future. And you know I just hate that.Hehe I'll see if I get some pictures posted also. Well I'm going to wrap it up for now.

AHHHHHHHH

Bag's are packed. I got up early this morning and got everything ready to go. But sadly we aren't leaving till Saturday:( Where you ask. Not home. We are going to Colorado. Derek is off for a whole week. So we decided to go spend Thanksgiving with everyone there. Being that we have never spent any holidays with my family since we got married or even was dating. It is the same distance from Kansas to our house as to Kansas to Colorado. So it cost the same. Which is great for the most part.

We haven't been home since October 28Th and won't be back till Maybe the 1st of December. That's a whole month. Gone away from home. I don't even remember what our house looks like. And not getting to see everyone, and Ashton isn't even going to know who we are. I miss him so much. I got a picture of him today and he looked so big and grown up. Granted he looked like a tiger but still. It's so hard not being there. Ok sorry about all that but it's getting to me.

I knew what we were getting into but who actually knows exactly what they are getting into till your head deep in it. Or is it just me. You can only think what is going to be like but you really don't know. You can only prepare for so much. And with that I think I'm going to close for now.

Not much to do.

Well not a lot has happen since last time. We are still in the same place. It is very boring here. I get Derek up for work before it is light out and I don't see him till it is dark out. This makes a long day.

We did venture to the end of the world on Sunday afternoon. Let me say I don't ever care to go back there. The locals said that's were they go for a nice dinner. But the only things there was a Mc Donalds, Arby's, Burger King, Taco John and I think that's it. We stopped and asked two different people were there was a nice place to eat at and they pretty much just laughed in are face. It was pretty crazy I must say.

Today we also checked on a gym membership. They are looking into special rates for us with this job. So hopefully that will work out for we have something to do. I would then be able to go to day workout class and not be so bored. And not get as fat being I don't have normal house hold chores to keep me busy and moving. They have some really fun classes from the sound of things. So I'm excited about that. That's less hours for me to spend in the motel.

Can anybody say slacker!

It has been forever. Hope all is doing well. A lot has been going on. Since I have been gone there has been some life changing things. Derek got a new job working for the IBEW out of Kansas. Doing the same work but better training. And better pay. We are now living five days out of the week in Kansas. This job requires traveling to different towns job by job. We have been able to get a new vehicle. Which has been really nice to be able to go where we want without being afraid of it leaving us. But with all good things comes bad things. We have been living out of a suitcase and motel for for 7 weeks going into the 8 week. Eating out lunch and dinner 7 days a week. I'm not a breakfast person. Some may be thinking no cooking that must be the best thing ever. Well it's not I'd rather cook. You can only eat out so many times.
I have seen more towns in Kansas then I ever cared to and it's only just begun. We were in Manhattan,KS for the first few weeks. NOT New York. It was a good size collage town so that made it nice. But know we are in Marysvillie,KS 13 miles from the end of the world, I mean Nebraska. The town is only 4,000 people. There is a Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and the local favorite Wagon Wheel. There is absolutely nothing to do in this town. Well till next which wont be long being there is nothing else to do. Take care

HI

Hi everyone. Hope all is doing well. I have had a bunch of post but had decided not to post them because of things that was going on. Anyway all that has passed. So I am back. There is so much that has and is going on I don't know were to begin. We had a very fun time camping. And just got out of a wonderful Convention. We got to meet some new young people and plan on having them out to stay with us sometime. Derek got appointed Regional Youth Leader. I have started babysitting Ashton for Heather since she went back to work. Which is fun. But I must say I do understand everyone with kids now and how they can never seem to keep the house up. I mean you pick something up and not a second later it's out.
Other news Derek and I are looking into getting a new vehicle. I am so happy it will be my first new one. And we are trying to sale the two out of the three vehicle we have. So if anyone is interested or knows of anyone let us know. We have a 2000 S10 Chevy truck and a 1996 Ford Taurus. Well that's it for now.

Well we are in Colorado. We made the trip last night. We start revival tomorrow night so please be praying for us. I don't know how much I will be posting but I'll be sure to when I get back. A Good Week

It has been a good week. To start off Derek is finally off call after two long weeks. He came home from work with good news. That he got the 40 hours overtime he needed to take off work to go to Colorado. So now we don't have to take a week off with no pay. Praise the Lord. The weather has been really nice. I got out of the house and mowed. And I have even managed to go for a couple of runs this week. Which I must say that i was like to die trying to get threw 3 miles. I have got out of the routine of walking so I'm not used to it anymore. But as of next week I'm going to get back on track.
Jamey and the kid's have been down. So it's been a bunch of fun. We played a few games of hand and foot to all hours of the night, and Disney Scene It. And ate! It's going to be very sad when they leave tomorrow:(

What a trip

Well I'm back from Colorado. It was a long weekend. I think i got a total and three hours of sleep the whole weekend. The trip down there took 13 hours. I got to visit with my grandma, mom, dad, Tim, my best friend, and my grandpa who i hadn't seen in years. I spent Saturday going to yard sales. I got a bunch of stuff. Then i meet with my best friend for lunch/ dinner. Then we went shopping. It was fun. Saturday evening i spent with my dad, grandpa and some friends of the family. I felt very out of place with everyone. I grew up with Spanish as almost a first language and over the years i stopped talking it. I can understand it but can't speak it as fluent as i should. So everyone in the house was speaking it. So i was just sitting there. Every now and then i would say something. But for the most i just sat there. Sunday I took my mom out for breakfast and spent a couple of hours with her. Then went to my grandma's to pack. Then i went up to Colorado springs for church. After that we went for dinner and jumped on the road. We drove for four hours and stopped in Colby, Kansas for the night. We got up that morning and left around 9:30. It took us 10 hours then to get to Pryor. Making it a total of a 14 hour trip. It was very long. It is so good to be back home. Even though i spent the day doing laundry, a sink full of dishes, and cleaning the whole house. Well that's all for now.

Back Again

Well its been awhile since i have blogged, because i usually leave that to my wonderful wife. But this weekend has been a bit different. First of all thursday night leanndra decided she had to go to colorado to pick up her car, because her dad went to the doctor and found out he had diabetes, so the doctor didn't want him traveling just getting on the medicine, so we would appreciate your prayers for him. So anyways she had to go up there with pop and gramma to pick up jamey and the kids while dus is at BTI. So this whole weekend i have been baching it. well actually i have been staying at heather and aaron's house. Eventhough i am grown i still rely on my big sis to take care of me when my wife is away. This is my first weekend without leanndra since we have been married so i don't know what to do with all my spare time. I have gotten plenty of sleep this weekend. But I definitely miss her. But i am glad she got to go surprise her mom for mothers day, and visit her dad.

I also want to say Happy Mothers Day. Just in case anybody was wondering, I Love My Mom. Sometimes when i haven't seen my mom in awhile i tell leanndra how bad i miss her. Probably the best part of my mom is that she raised me in The Church and taught me about the Bible. That will definitely stick with me the rest of my life. no matter how far i might move away from her i will never forget what she taught me when i was just a little boy. And no i am not saying i am moving anywhere anytime soon. I LOVE YOU MOMMA.

Rain, rain go away! It has been raining for as long as i can remember. Rain plus curly hair is a bad combo. I have to wear my hair curly this causing me to have to buy hairspray ever three days and shampoo ever five days. It's getting pretty expensive. Any way Derek is on call for two weeks. With it storming ever day this week he is going to be getting a lot of overtime. Which wouldn't be bad but we started revival last night with Bro. Smith. He was able to be there for last night service. So that was good. But as the week goes on he will be drained. He got to sleep two hours before being called out last night. Then he came home and got to sleep another two hours before having to be back at work for another eight day.
Well I am looking forward to getting to see my dad. He is coming out some time this month. To bring me my car and visit. He hasn't be able to come out and see me since my wedding . So it is going to be kinda strange having him stay for awhile with us at our home. I don't know if he has really realized how grown up and on my own i am. Even though i haven't lived with him for four years. I'm kind of nervous of to how it will be. I guess will see though. Well I rambled enough for now.

OK it has be along time I am surprised i have an account still. But I have had a few people asking why I haven't been blogging. The reason being I didn't think I had anything important to say and I didn't think anybody really cared. But I was wrong I guess. So I'm back. Well I'm trying to think if anything big happen in the last two months. We had a good Easter. And a few weeks ago we had a wonderful Youth Convention. The Lord is so great to us. We were able to go to Tulsa for revival with Bro. Smith two nights. Bro. Smith will be in Pryor for a four day revival next week. Heather had Asthton's birthday party at pizza hut. It was so cute. Derek will be holding a revival in Pueblo, Colorado the first of June. Which is nice because i will get to see my family this summer when I thought i wasn't going to. The Lord works in so many ways. So if you could keep that in your prayers we would both appreciate it. It is going to be his first revival. We will also get to be there for Aleah's first birthday. I know i have become a big slacker. I have been busy looking for a job for a week and a half now. I'm needing to go to work for a few months because of up coming events. We have a wedding to go to in September. And we have planned to go on vacation to Florida in November. I would also like to make it out to Colorado sometime but the looks of that isn't to great. Heather and I are on a weight loss mission. We have been walking everyday. We have made it up to walking three miles a day now. Derek and Aaron have been jogging to. (only two miles!) They are training to run the Tulsa Marathon in October. No weight has come off yet but I also need to work on eating healthy. Oh and my biggest issue! I am allergic to Oklahoma! I have been sneezing 24/7 itchy watery eyes the whole works. I've got to get out of here. Well I've got to go get rested up. Tomorrow Heather and I are going to Tulsa to wait in line a few hours early to get into the winter jam tour.( concert- Jeremy Camp Hawk Nelson Steven Curtis Chapman and a few others) We want to be right in front of the stage. I'll try and take some pictures and post them in about 3 or 4 weeks knowing me.

Beautiful!

The weather has been absolutely beautiful. It has been around 70 degrees the whole week. I have been able to have the window's open all week. I love it. We finally got our yard cleaned up from the ice storm. The city came by and hauled all the broken tree limbs off. I plan to attempt to plant flowers again. Last year i tried but it wasn't to successful. I don't think i have the green thumb as they say. But it's weird both mom and dad have it. They plant the prettiest rose gardens and the best vegetable garden. So i don't know what happen to me. Well i am in the mist of making chocolate chip cookies so i think I'm gonna go. We have district convention tomorrow so please be praying for that.

Hi everyone. Sorry it has been a long time. Just haven't been motivated to get on. Or do anything for that matter. It has been real cold so we stood in and watched Rocky 1 threw 6 all week. Hope everybody had a good Vday. We just got threw having Youth Week at our local Church. It was fun. We had a movie night on Monday and watched Open Season. Had a bible study on Tuesday. Then went to our house and played games. Thursday we were going to have a singing and grab bag auction but we weren't able to so we are scheduled to have it Sunday night. Friday we went to Tulsa to the Aaorn Shust, Audio A, and Mercy Me concert. We'll I will try better this week on posting.

So the news forecaster's said we were to get another round of snow on Thursday. It didn't happen we waited around for it all day and it never came. But I think most were glad it didn't. Derek is off working. A night all by my lone some. And the bad thing is I can't sleep knowing he's out there. He got 3 hours of sleep the night before and maybe 20 min before he was back up. I had to talk to him the whole way there with it being a 30 min drive and all. For he wouldn' t fall asleep and that wasn't really working. So I don't know.

Well it's snowed all day. And is supposed to snow all day tomorrow. We just got done eating snow ice cream out at Heather and Aaron's. It was good. Were staying the night at there house cause the roads are to bad to drive. Derek is on call this week. And is getting some over time. I don't really like him being on call because there is times he is gone all night, and with the roads being bad he scares me. We all know he don't drive the best. Although he thinks of his self as a stud driver. Well i will keep you posted on the snow. And hopefully not about wrecks.

A long week

I have spent the last week trying to get back on my daily routine. Boy is it hard. I got use to being around people for the time i got up till bed playing cards and visiting. Now i am back to spending 10 hours by myself till Derek gets off. But i have managed to do some very detailed cleaning with all that time. I even through out the old entertainment center and got a new one. Poor Derek and Jeremy spent a couple of hours putting it together and setting it up. I had no clue it was gonna be so hard. Sorry again guys. Well i got to go drag my husband off the games. Its late.

No Power

Well we have turned into refugees. Every since are Colorado trip I guess. We have no power at our house due to a huge ice storm that hit town. So we were forced to leave because we have no heat or any way to cook. So we have spent the last five days at Gram and Pops(they also had no power). They have a gas stove so it heated the house and we were able to cook. Now they have power. It could take up to two weeks to get power up at our house. Which is not good for our water pipes. They may freeze up and break. We will be staying out there for awhile it looks like. So this new year has had a very bad start. Here are some pictures from the past couple of days.

HOME SWEET HOME !!!

Ah home! It was a very long trip. With no dull moments. As you all know we got stuck in Texas for two days. We had to go six hours out of are way just to get to Colorado. But we made it New Years eve. We spent the first few days at Dus and Jamey's. Wow Isaac and Aleah are getting so big. And so cute! We went shopping every day and played games in the evenings. It was fun. Then we went and stayed with my grandma the rest of the time. I got to spend a lot of time with my dad and uncle. Which was great . Derek and my uncle went snowboarding on Friday. And on the way home my uncles truck broke down. So it took a few hours to get it up and running again. On Saturday my dad, uncle, Derek, and I went to Denver to go to Ocean Journey. We had just got off the highway and my transmission went out on my car. So we were stuck in Denver. All the car rentals were closed. So my uncle called Bro. Johnathan Smith and he came and drove my dad and Uncle to U-Haul . A very big THANK YOU to Bro. Jonathan. So we all had to pile in the U-Haul. And to top it all off we were supposed to leave that next day. So Sunday we got to go to Church. Then that evening we went to Kevin and Michelle and played games. Dus and Jamey came down and played too. Monday we were going to leave but all the roads were closed. So finally we got to leave on Tuesday. Here are some pics of Colorado. Sorry it took so long. I
